What a weekend!! What can I say? They were scared. They were shy? They were quiet..... AT FIRST! But they were open to a new experience. We laughed. We learned. We ate. We danced. We swam. We ate again and again. We affirmed each other. We affirmed ourselves. We journaled. We painted on canvases. We painted our nails. We made vision boards. We talked entrepreneurship. We learned positive affirmations. We made lifelong friends. This weekend was about a group of girls (mostly strangers) coming together to learn how to love themselves, how to increase their self-esteem/confidence and set goals for the new school year and the years to come. Through activities, discussions and fun, we were able to accomplish the mission. Thank you to everyone who helped make this all possible. ‘I failed....but it’s okay’ This is one of my favorite quotes because I literally just experienced failure and for the first time it was okay. As I continue to follow my dreams and walk in my purpose and as I mentor young girls and women, I have learned that failure is a part of life. It’s really not about the failure so much but how we get back up and what lessons we learned. How do we help the next person based on what we know now. 🗣EMPOWERMENT RETREAT Girls ages 8-14 will enjoy an intimate, safe space where they will explore the meaning of knowing their worth. As the journey back to school begins, girls will learn about social etiquette, social skills, how to navigate social media safely, peer pressure, friendship building and what they should value in today’s world.
